WHY SILVER ALUMINIUM?

Silver aluminium adds a reflective brilliance and clarity to this piece. It catches and plays with light throughout the day, enhancing the movement and contrast of the image. This finish deepens the immersive experience — the piece shimmers with energy and elegance in changing light.

THE STORY

IN DEEP WATER was captured during our return voyage to the UK, after a long period away from our grown-up family. As we docked in Santander, I looked over the side of the ship and saw this silvery, glimmering creature moving through deep water, a visual mirror for my own emotional state.

This photograph carries the weight of separation, resilience and hope. The edit is strong and deliberate, highlighting the tension and contrast in the ripples and reflections. The image is printed directly onto textured aluminium, which enhances the silkiness and shimmer of the surface, making it dance with light across the day.

Green dominates the composition — a colour of renewal, energy, and balance. IN DEEP WATER is a visual narrative of depth, strength, and regeneration. It is both a personal and universal story of returning, remembering and moving forward.

MINIATURES

Miniatures are the smallest edition of each piece — open edition 15 x 15 cm artworks, printed on brushed aluminium and framed in solid wood.

Each miniature arrives in a black presentation gift box with a pair of white cotton gloves and care instructions, making it a perfect gift or entry point into collecting Katha Wood’s work. These open editions are beautifully finished.
