I encountered ANGEL on one of my trips back to the UK during the covid era.  We were living in Spain under what felt like very draconian measures.  But we had been 'released' for long enough to run back to England to see family and friends. 

Life in the UK felt a little less restricted than life in Spain and I felt liberated and able to 'hop and skip' along the streets of London and even go shopping!  Seeing people out and about, doing their normal thing, going about their business was an enormous relief.  And then I found ANGEL!  He was up on a scaffold painting this fabulously vibrant mural.  I felt compelled to stop and ask him if I could take his picture!  He obliged!  I felt cockahoop by the exchange (a massive oxytocin rush.  Check out his face too!  Maybe he was pleased as well!   It wasn't until I got home and into my digital darkroom, that I discovered he had wings!  That made sense!  The difference it made at that time to have what felt like near normality, to be wandering around in the outside world, to be able to engage with strangers, fellow man and woman, exchange a friendly word and a smile.  It's everything!

ANGEL is a digital photograph printed directly onto silver coloured brushed aluminium.  The white areas of the file are removed, enabling the metal to shine through and catch the light.  This brings almost 3D like properties to the art piece which adds huge depth to the experience.  The piece picks up the light differently at different times of the day and evening, depending on the light source and varying as the sun moves around your space.  Different again with artificial light in the evening.  Samples are available to buy, so you can try before you buy if you would prefer.  See below for size and sample options.

The magic of this work is that you can order a sample if you want to, before you commit to your larger investment.    

Samples come without hanging hardware on the back, so that you can lay them down on a flat table surface, stack them, store them, (use them as drinks or place mats!).

They provide very useful tools for planning, for quality and colour checking, creating schemes, to fully appreciate the quality, style and texture of this extraordinary aluminium print.

CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICATION

All framed pieces come with a Certificate of Authenticity.  This certificate carries the number of the piece in the edition, is signed and stamped.  It will either be applied to the back of the piece when you receive it or you will receive it separately and you can either file it or apply it yourself.
