THE STORY
ON THE BEACH II captures a moment of raw contrast — a looming storm over the North Sea, while golden sunlight transforms the sand in the foreground. It was taken on Brancaster Beach, Norfolk, in 2023, shortly after returning to England from Spain — a moment of transition, tension, and clarity.
As the storm gathered on the horizon, the sun lit the beach from behind, allowing play to continue in the present. Wind whipped around my legs, grains of sand stinging like small insects, and my dogs darted around my feet. It was chaotic and beautiful, wild and calm.
This image is printed directly onto textured aluminium, which deepens the drama — enhancing the shadow and gleam, and shifting beautifully with the light. A study in contrasts, ON THE BEACH II is both grounded and ethereal, like the moment it captures.
MINIATURES
Miniatures are the smallest edition of each piece — open edition 22.5 x 15 cm artworks, printed on aluminium dibond and framed in solid wood or aluminium.
